Food Cargo Thefts at All-Time High

Security pros having responsibility for distribution and transportation security should check the Cargo Theft Analysis located in this section of the website. The information in the analysis comes from the Southeast Transportation Security Council (SETSC), an active task force of over 100 law enforcement and private security personnel. We take the information from the SETSC cargo theft incident reports to produce the analysis.

The reports are taken mostly from cargo thefts in Georgia and parts of Florida, Tennessee and Mississippi. Several factors stand out in the Analysis, including that approximately 50% of the incidents are thefts of food products and non-food products commonly sold in supermarkets.

I suggest you also make note of certain truck stops named in the analysis where a number of truck/trailer loads have been stolen. Please note that the Cargo Theft Analysis will continually be updated.
